Stealth Nerf to the breacher

I understand the original stealth nerf to the breacher

Being able to do full damage while inside of a shield was a bit too strong so adjusting it to 20 damage inside/to outside and 100 damage from outside/in was a fair adjustment

But nerfing the breacher so it is a flat 20 damage through shield while inside it or outside it completely removes the reason to USE the breacher.

On top of that you add the fact that the breacher is the only chargeable weapon that you have to recharge on dodge and has one of the slowest refire rates in the game and you took an interesting weapon with some very niche dynamics...and made it completely useless

Why did you do this hawken_ And why didn't you either A. inform us about it or B. Ask us wether this was feasible or wether this would completely remove a weapon from the game.


Have you as a community ever felt the breachers ability was too strong considering the damage/refire rate trade offs the weapon has and do you believe hawken flat out removing the railshots ability is appropriate or warranted_

I feel the stealth nerf was unnecessary.  I was able to do very well with the breacher before, now it sucks because it can't help me survive in CQC or even if I alpha striked people repairing, I still died even if I had the jump on them.  But eh this is my opinion.

The breacher is an absurdly powerful weapon. If anything it needs an additional damage nerf.

I am not sure but isn't there still this damage bug on breacher_ You know, sometimes it did amazing dmg in one shot - happened irregular.

Also another question: you are speaking of stealth nerf but then in text about the breacher and shield.. whats the matter with stealth_

He meant it as a change made without telling anyone. Like a hidden nerf if you will.

Recently started playing Predator a lot and needless to say, I've seen the light.

Don't agree with the nerf at all. Breacher was in a decent spot before.

It's that charged-to-uncharged double tap that makes it crazy. That fuzzy bunny eats repairing, shielded A-classes.

I thought something was going on with the damage but i couldn't put my finger on it. Thanks for confirming it OP. I main Predator and it's is a very disappointing life. Worse, when i see another Predator on the team, i either fold my head in disappointment and accept the eventual loss or pick another mech.

Simply cant have THAT much dead weight on one team.

The charged damage will sometimes hit for 200.  It's inconsistent though.  Not sure if it's a bug or not, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I have no idea what I'm facing when a Breacher starts letting rip because sometimes it does _colossal_ amounts of damage for no apparent reason

Devs haven't shown interest in ANY of the Predator's problems. In fact, they've showed disinterest and told us all is well, learn2pred. I love the devs don't get me wrong, it's just the Predator needs more than a bug fix. We definitely need the bug fixed, but we need so much more.   :(

Pred is fine. It's even better after the Steam patch if you know what you are doing.

But yeah, as X said about the Breacher; it's still glitching for 200 damage sometimes, just happened to me today.

As far as the nerf; I can't say getting kills through a shield was ever a common thing really so I'm not sure this is such a big deal.

I also play on "PoundSignYoloSwag" (Assault/G2 Assault) and "FriendshipIsMagic" (Rocketeer) But haven't been able to add them to my Sig yet due to computer problems.

Being able to railshot through a shield can make or break a fight in a competitive setting

It is what made the pred viable in competition


without this ability..it is just an infil that has crappier AD

I'm with Dew on this one.  All Breacher needs is that crazy damage glitch finally fixed and remove the ability to immediately follow up a rail shot with a flak shot and, BOOM, Breacher fixed.

Honestly, what kills me the most from the Breacher is that rail shot damage glitch.  I go in thinking I have the health to tank it and then OMG MAH FACE WHY...

Apparently these nerfs are actually not being tracked by the dev team so fall under the category of a Bug

They are now looking into it.
